UnderDog ("we", "us", "our") is a dog adoption discovery app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why, and how it is stored when you use the UnderDog mobile application (the "App").
Information We Collect
- Account information: the email address you provide when you create an account, stored via Google Firebase Authentication. Passwords are handled securely by Firebase and are never stored by us in readable form.
- Liked dogs (matches): the dogs you save to your matches, stored in Firebase Firestore so your list persists across sessions and devices.
- Content you submit: if you are an approved organisation, the listing details and images you upload, stored via Firebase Storage and Firestore.
What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your name, precise location, payment details, or any personal information beyond what is listed above. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising purposes.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the App (authentication, saving matches, showing listings).
- To respond to support requests and moderate reported content.
- To keep the App safe and enforce our Terms of Use.
Third-Party Services
UnderDog uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, and file storage.
Data Retention and Account Deletion
Your account data (including saved matches) is retained until you delete your account. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the App: open the Account menu (person icon) and choose Delete Account. You may also email us to request deletion. Once deleted, your account information and saved matches are permanently removed.
Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
